Homewood High School (HHS) is a four-year public high school located in Homewood, Alabama, just outside the city limits of Birmingham. 42 percent of students identify themselves as minority and 30 percent are economically disadvantaged. Homewood High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Alabama Department of Education.
Students seeking a standard diploma at Homewood High School must complete a graduation plan including 24 credits. Three diploma options are available to students: Standard, Advanced Academic Endorsement, and Seal of Distinction. Furthermore, Homewood High School has a strong, long-standing Advanced Placement program and offers 20 AP classes and eight Pre-AP classes.
Dual credit courses are offered in partnership with Jefferson State Community College.
Activities available to students at HHS include several sports programs, band, and clubs. Many options are available for the varied interests of students.
